Ram Chargers

A group of Chrysler Employee Motorsports Association (CEMA) club members built a duplicate of the Ramchargers first club car. This is a tribute to the original drag race car and the team that introduced many new features that are still used by today’s successful racers.

The original car that first appeared at the 1959 Nationals of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) at the Detroit Dragway set a new C/Altered Class speed record on its first outing. The ungainly looking car was nicknamed the High & Mighty because of its unusual height and its noisy, fire-breathing Hemi pipes. It was an unforgettable sight and a source of curiosity and skepticism until the crackle of the powerful Hemi engine was heard and the results of its performance were posted.

This car was designed and built on nights and weekends by a group of Chrysler engineers and technicians using personal time and their own money, applying the skills and knowledge they developed working on the new Chrysler products. The Sloan Auto Fair is proud to have them available for pictures and autographs at the show.

This project is completely independent of the Chrysler Corporation, DaimlerChrysler AG, Chrysler LLC and business relationship with its current or future suppliers.
